Loyal Royals: Enthusiastically supporting student-athletes and coaches at EMU

The Loyal Royals are a group of persons interested in and committed supporting the mission of developing young people through athletics at Eastern Mennonite University. Activities of the Loyal Royals are coordinated by a local Steering Committee working in cooperation with the Alumni Relations Office and Athletic Department.

The Loyal Royals are the sponsoring organization for the Hall of Honor which annually inducts former athletes into the Hall and/or retires athletic jerseys. They also sponsor special activities for alumni, athletes, and parents of current athletes. They also provide funding for special projects and events beyond the athletic budget.

Along with promoting EMU athletics and building relationships in the community, the Loyal Royals raise funds to support their activities and the EMU Athletic Department. The two major fundraisers are the Paul R. Yoder Sr. Golf Classic, which is held each year, and the annual phonathon held each September.  Other annual activities include receptions, special events and projects, the Hall of Honor, and the Athletic Honors Banquet

Special projects have included softball field renovations, the new athletics website, athletic training staff and equipment, and a pressbox on the turf field.
