Royals Land Three On CVC All-Academic Team
Three EMU men’s volleyball players have been named to the inaugural Continental Volleyball Conference All-Academic Team. Student-athletes competing in the CVC must maintain a grade point average of 3.30 or higher for the current academic year to be eligible for the honor.

Prock Picks Up All-Division Award
Senior Nolan Prock picked up a unique honor, as he has been named to the first ever CVC All-East Division Team. This year was the inaugural season of the Continental Volleyball Conference.

Stevenson Knocks EMU From Tournament Berth
Facing a “win-and-you’re-in” situation Wednesday night at Stevenson, the Eastern Mennonite volleyball men came up just a few points shy. The Royals dropped three straight matches, falling each time by a slim 25-22 score.

EMU Finishes 2-1 At CVC Weekend And Stands In Third
After Friday’s important win over Thiel, the EMU volleyball men held serve Saturday at the CVC Weekend, taking a win over PBU before falling to No. 4 Juniata. The Royals wrap up their regular season Wednesday night at Stevenson. A win against the Mustangs would assure the men a top three spot in the East Division and berth in the inaugural CVC Tournament.

Royals Sweep Fontbonne To Finish Wisconsin Invitational
The Eastern Mennonite men’s volleyball team earned a split on day two of the Wisconsin Invitational, playing two matches in Milwaukee, WI. The Royals opened by falling to No. 8 Nazareth, their third straight contest against a highly ranked opponent. EMU then ended their Midwest trip with a 3-0 sweep of Fontbonne.

The Eastern Mennonite men’s volleyball team opened up their two-day play at the Wisconsin Invitational Friday afternoon, dropping a pair of matches to No. 3 Carthage and No. 5 New York University.

Volleyball Men Sweep Ramapo To Split Tri-Match
By the end of the day, the Eastern Mennonite men’s volleyball team was looking as good as it had all year. The Royals split their tri-match hosted by Philadelphia Biblical University on Saturday, falling to their hosts in four before sweeping Ramapo, a team which had been getting votes in the national poll.

The Royals continued their play at a Continental Volleyball Conference weekend in Owings Mills, MD, on Saturday. The men split with Juniata and Philadelphia Biblical, coming home with a 7-8 record overall record.

Men Within Points But Fall To Thiel
Getting close but not close enough, the Royals came up short in a 3-0 decision against Thiel Friday evening to open up their first-ever Continental Volleyball Conference weekend. EMU was out-scored by an average of three points per game to slip to 0-2 in CVC play.

After knocking off one nationally ranked opponent on Saturday, the Royals failed to equal the fete on Sunday. Despite heading home with a 2-2 overall record from the Thiel College AVI Invitational, the volleyball men proved they could play with the best teams in the nation.

Benson Steps Down As Men's And Women's Volleyball Coach
Eastern Mennonite University has announced the resignation of Steve Benson, head coach of the men's and women's volleyball programs, effective at the end of July. Benson, who just finished his sixth season at EMU, has accepted a position as the Event Manager for the Florida Region of USA Volleyball.

Men's Volleyball Joins Continental Volleyball Conference
The Royals men's volleyball program will have a new conference in 2012. Gary Williams, Associate Athletic Director of Carthage College announced the forming of the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC), a nation-wide men's volleyball conference with ten NCAA Division III Institutions focused on academic and athletic excellence. Williams will serve as the conference's first commissioner.
