The Royals started out a weekend trip to Pennsylvania with a 3-0 CVC sweep of newcomer Neumann University. Eastern Mennonite improves to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

The men make the trek to Langhorne, Pa., on Saturday for two matches at Cairn University. EMU plays the Highlanders in a CVC contest at 10:00am, before a non-conference set against Mount Ida and noon. The Royals will also play two at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa., on Sunday.

Neumann, in their first year as a program, offered little resistance to Eastern Mennonite. Dan Lutz (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) landed three aces as the men scored the first six points and rolled to a 25-3 win in the opener. The Royals continued to work in more of their players in the second and still strolled to a 25-15 final.

A 6-0 streak broke open a close start in the third and the men never slowed down, winning 25-13.

R.J. Ocampo (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) was unstoppable, unleashing nine kills on ten swings. He added three blocks, playing in just two of the sets. Sophomore Sean Wright (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) made good use of the start, rattling off seven kills and a match high 10 digs. Ten men had at least one kill.

Lutz finished with five aces while Hunter Taylor (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) landed three, playing in his first match of the year.

Christian Taylor (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) lofted 26 assists, while Wyatt Bollinger (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) added eight assists.
