EMU Launches Redesigned Athletics Website

EMU Launches Redesigned Athletics Website

EMU Athletics welcomes you to the new EMUroyals.com website!

The redesigned website launched this morning and offers Royals fans an updated version of all of the information they are accustomed to as they follow Eastern Mennonite University athletics, as well as some new features. Presto Sports continues as the host of EMUroyals.com.

Along with a fully responsive design, adjusting to fit the screen of any viewing device, the website features a direct feed of the Twitter and Facebook accounts of EMU Athletics. The home page and individual sport pages also have a larger schedule portal for easier access to previous and upcoming contests.

Director of Athletics Dave King said the new website better communicates the story of EMU student-athletes.

“The rapid changes in technology, coupled with the interests and habits of young people, require us to stay current with our communication patterns with recruits, alumni and the larger community,” King explained. “The redesign of the website will improve our messaging capabilities to the many constituent groups we try to reach each day. We have important stories to tell and we continually work at the best ways to tell them to the people that need to hear them.”

Sports Information Director James DeBoer said the redesigned website brings important information to the forefront.

“It’s simple and clean,” he said, “so fans can quickly get to all the information they are used to getting, but it also provides them easier access to Royals social media and videos, as well as a better use of our top-notch photos and graphics.”

Other improvements include immediate access to past schedules and rosters through drop-down menus, as well as an unending feed of news headlines.

Eastern Mennonite University first launched a website hosted by Presto Sports in 2011 and added live video streaming of sporting events through Presto’s Broadcast feature in 2015.

“I'm grateful to Sports Information Director James DeBoer and Jon Styer from EMU Marketing and Communications, along with Eli Pearlstein and the rest of the Presto Sports staff for their collaboration, attention to details and efficiency in getting this project completed in a timely manner,” said King. “We hope you enjoy the new design and welcome your feedback at any point.”

The redesigned website comes as a fitting bookend to EMU’s Centennial Homecoming Weekend, helping to celebrate 100 years of Eastern Mennonite University.

The Athletics Annual Fund helps pay for the website. Click here for more information on giving to EMU Athletics.
