First year head coach Adam Posey has released the 40-game EMU baseball schedule for the 2020 season. For the third year in a row the Royals open up with a three-game series on the road at North Carolina Wesleyan, playing a 7-inning doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 8 and a single game on Sunday, Feb. 9.
The Diamond Royals play their first home games the following weekend hosting Southern Virginia in a doubleheader on Feb. 15, beginning at 12:00pm.
The men then play five of their next six games in February at home, including 7-inning doubleheaders against DeSales and Penn St.-Altoona the weekend of Feb. 22-23.
The Royals travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for their Spring Break trip the first week of March where they will play five games over four days before going to Ferrum for their first ODAC doubleheader of the season on March 7.
A six game home stretch of conference games begins with a doubleheader against Lynchburg on March 14 and ends with a single game against the reigning ODAC Tournament Champion, Shenandoah, on March 24.
Cross-town rival Bridgewater comes to Harrisonburg on April 1 then EMU heads to Randolph-Macon for a doubleheader on April 4, in a rematch of the ODAC Tournament First Round from last season.
Mid-week conference road games against Washington and Lee, Shenandoah, and Bridgewater in addition to weekend doubleheaders against Emory & Henry and Roanoke wind down the end of the conference season in April.
The Royals end the regular season at home with a doubleheader against Virginia Wesleyan on April 25, which will also be Senior Recognition.
Eastern Mennonite finished the 2019 season with a record of 16-23-1 overall and 10-12 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, earning the No. 8 seed in the postseason tournament.
