    Head coach Brenda Bechler has announced the 2007 Eastern Mennonite University field hockey schedule with the Lady Royals traveling to Gettysburg, Pa., to take on the Bullets on August 31, at 3 p.m.
  • Eleven Lady Royals Named to NFHCA Field Hockey National Academic Team

    Eleven Eastern Mennonite University field hockey players were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Team. EMU was also one of the Division III programs with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Lady Royals were one of four Old Dominion Athletic Conference teams to be named to the Division III National Academic Team.

    Eastern Mennonite University senior Kristie Souder (Telford, Pa.) was named to the Second Team All-State in the College Division as announced by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) on Thursday.

    Senior Kristie Souder (Telford, Pa.) scored at the 67th minute to put the game into overtime and the Eastern Mennonite University field hockey team and Lynchburg battled through double overtime before the Hornets were able to take the game on penalty strokes 3-2 and clinch the Old Dominion Athletic Championship.

    For the second game in a row the Eastern Mennonite University offense was led by familiar pair as senior Kristie Souder (Telford, Pa.) and sophomore Meghan Hershey (Paradise, Pa.) combined to score all four goals as the EMU field hockey team defeated Bridgewater College in the first round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference playoffs by a score of 4-1.
