  • Royals Set New High For ODAC All-Academic Team

    Eastern Mennonite University set a new high for student-athletes named to the annual Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, as 80 Royals were honored. Last year EMU landed 61 on the list.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2012 ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams in each of seven fall sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the fourth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.

The Blue Jays, who had received votes in the preseason national poll, scored the first two goals and never looked back in an 8-2 decision over the EMU women.

    Playing less than 24 hours after a high-scoring loss to Gettysburg on a hot day, the Eastern Mennonite field hockey women tangled with Ursinus. The Lady Royals scored first against the nation’s sixth-ranked team, but ran out of steam down the stretch, giving up three unanswered goals in a 5-2 loss.

    On a hot opening day, the Eastern Mennonite field hockey team provided plenty of excitement coming back from a two-goal deficit. In the end, however, visiting Gettysburg had the final say, taking a 7-5 decision from the Lady Royals.
