Field Hockey Recognized By NFHCA For Academics

Eight women from the EMU field hockey team have been named to the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

Rachel Breslin (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite), Lauren Hartzler  (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central), Skylar Hedgepeth (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield), Madeline Mast (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite), Bri Miller (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester),  Rachel Musselman (Denver, Pa./Cocalico), Hannah Nichols (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor), and Kelsey Troyer (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) represent the Royals out of the 1,746 student-athletes from 147 Division III institutions recognized this year.

The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.

Hartzler, Hedgepeth, Mast, and Musselman were also named to the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction. They are four of the 268 total student-athletes recognized for achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.

The EMU field hockey women finished with a record of 8-11 last season with their 2019 schedule kicking off at home on Saturday, August 31 against Lancaster Bible.
