Skylar Hedgepeth (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) and Lauren Hartzler (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) each had two goals and an assist as the Eastern Mennonite field hockey women rolled to a 5-0 win at Southern Virginia on Wednesday.

The Royals even out their record at 3-3 while snapping a three-game skid. They hit the road again on Saturday, playing a 1:00pm game at Notre Dame (Md.)

EMU dominated from the start of the game at SVU, earning six corners in opening quarter. Hedgepeth was the first to hit the cage, getting an assist from Hartzler in the 12th minute. Just moments after the restart, the women earned another corner and this time Brandy Troutman (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) drilled in a long shot with an assist from the insert from Morgan Tricarico (Culpeper, Va./Eastern View).

Hartzler scored in the 27th minute to give the Royals a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Hartzler scored again in the 36th minute, this time assisted by Hedgepeth, who then got her own second goal in the 43rd minute.

Eastern Mennonite controlled play to the tune of a 23-2 advantage in shots and 16-2 in corners.

Arianna Nixon (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) made two saves to preserve the shutout.
