EMU junior forward DJ Hill (Woodbridge, Va./Hylton) has been named the men's basketball Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Hill had a career effort last week, including a 31-point outburst in Wednesday's road win at Shenandoah, where he hit the game-winner with six seconds remaining in the Runnin Royals' 80-79 decision. He dumped in 13-of-15 field goal attempts, with his 31 points nearly doubling his previous career high of 16 points. Hill added nine rebounds and two assists in the win.
On Saturday, he added 13 and nine against Randolph to average 22.0 points (18-23 FGs), 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks for the week.
Hill is averaging 12.9 points and 8.7 rebounds in his first season as a starter. He has scored in double figures each of the last four games, averaging 18.8 points.
This is the first ODAC Player of the Week award for Hill.
EMU's basketball men take a 3-11 overall record (1-4 ODAC) into Wednesday's hosting of No. 4 Randolph-Macon College. Game time is 7:00pm in Yoder Arena.
