The Royals made the biggest Day Two improvement of any of the 11 teams at the Lynchburg College Invitational on Tuesday, shaving off 12 strokes. EMU's golfers have improved their team score in every round they have played at their two tournaments this spring.

Senior Josh Alderfer (Faber, Va./Nelson County) led the charge, carding a 74 (+2) on the final day to cut off seven strokes and fly up the leaderboard. He ended tied for 16th with a two-day total of 155.

Lucas Miller (San Antonio, Texas/Brandeis) shot an 85 each day to finish tied for 50th at 170. Travis Dull (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) also had a solid improvement on Tuesday, taking five strokes off his score to finish at 179 in 57th. Austin Sachs (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) settled 61st at 186.

Methodist dominated play, with Tyler Vincent finishing one under par at 143 to win the individual title by three strokes. They claimed the team crown by 31 strokes.

The Royals have two weeks off before their final tune-up of the spring, golfing at Williamsburg Golf Club for the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial on April 10 and 11. The ODAC Championships are April 23-25 in Wintergreen.
