EMU Golfers Finish At ODAC Championships

EMU's golfers wrapped up the season at the ODAC Championships on Tuesday. The three-event was played on the par-72 Bryan Park Championship Course on the outskirts of Greensboro, N.C.

Senior Lucas Miller (San Antonio, Tex./Brandeis) finished his career well, notching some of his best rounds of the year. Miller was the Royals' leader each of the tournament's three days, carding scores of 79, 82 and 83 for a total of 244 (+28). He finished tied for 35th out of 60 golfers.

Riley Kingsley (North Newton, Kan./Newton) played consistent golf with rounds of 83, 83 and 85. He came in at 251 (+35) and tied for 43rd. Austin Sachs (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) rounded out the senior trio at 259 (+43) for 50th place. He had his best round with an 82 on Sunday.

Freshman Christopher Elliott (Beaver Springs, Pa./Midd-West) played some of his best golf of the spring and finished at 273 (+57). Benjamin Shenk (Elkton, Va./Page County) overcame a rough start, shooting his best round of the tournament with an 87 on Tuesday. He came in at 275 (+59).

As the team, the Royals had their best round on Sunday with a four-man score of 335. They slid to 12th place by Tuesday with a three-day total of 1021.

Washington and Lee improved their team score each day and jumped Guilford College on the final day to win the team title at 870. They made up 12 strokes on the Quakers on Tuesday to win by seven. GC's James Mishoe beat the Generals' Brian Peccie in a playoff, each finishing with a three-day total of 214 (-2).
