Both of EMU's NCAA National Track & Field Championships qualifiers have also landed on the All-South/Southeast Region Team, as named by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
To be named All-Region, an athlete must be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to the final TFRRS data.
This is the fifth All-Region honor for Amoateng, including his fourth in either the indoor or outdoor triple jump. This spring, the junior was first in the South/Southeast Region in the triple jump with his PR distance of 14.71m (48ft-3.25in).
Faint claims his third straight All-Region award in the 400m hurdles. An All-American in the event last year, he led the S/SE and is fourth in the nation as a senior with his school record time of 51.89. Faint also earned All-Region honors this indoor season in the 400m dash.
Both men are participating in this week's Nationals in La Crosse, Wisc. Faint runs in the 400m hurdles preliminaries on Thursday with the finals on Saturday. Amoateng has the triple jump Saturday afternoon.
