A flawless last hurdle and sprint to the finish pushed Connor Faint (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) into the finals of the 400m hurdles at this weekend's NCAA Outdoor National Championships.
EMU's senior will get a chance to repeat his All-America honor from last year and has his sights set even higher as he takes the No. 6 seed into his final race. He ran a :52.89 in the prelims, leaving room to improve his time in the finals.
Faint will run at 3:15pm (Eastern) on Saturday at the meet in La Crosse, Wisc. The top eight runners in the final will earn All-American honors.

Running in the final of the three heats on Thursday, Faint was in the middle of his six-man race until the final stretch after having to adjust his timing before one of his middle hurdles. But he was perfect down the stretch and passed who had been the leader on the last hurdle. Faint crossed second in his heat.
He took the No. 4 seed into Nationals with an EMU record time of :51.89.
The top finisher in each of the three heats earned an automatic spot in the finals, along with the next six overall times. Josh Yamamoto of Augustana (Ill.) won Faint's heat and takes the top time into the finals at :52.05.
