HARRISONBURG, Va. - Men's volleyball concludes the 1st Annual Royal Invitational sweeping through the competition with victories over Baptist Bible and Lancaster Bible. EMU beat Baptist Bible 30-11, 30-15, and 30-21 and then defeated Baptist Bible 30-20, 30-11, and 30-18.

In EMUís first match, the Royals (3-0) took advantage early on in the match to bounce the Defenders (1-1). Nate Artz (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) led the Royals with 12 kills, four service aces, and seven digs. Bryce and Brandon Bergey (Sellersville, Pa./Christopher Dock) recorded 20 and 23 assists, respectively.

The Royals dominated the final match of the Royal Invitational against Lancaster Bible (0-3). Matt Musselman (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) led EMU with 12 kills and two blocks. Nick Bernardo (Lansdale, Pa./Christopher Dock) added 10 kills. Bryce Bergey ended the match with 35 assists and four service aces.

In the other matches, Philadelphia Biblical went undefeated beating Lancaster Bible and Baptist Bible.

The Royals are back in action Friday, January 24 on the road against Lees-McCrae in North Carolina.
