EMU's volleyball men suffered a 3-0 setback to nationally ranked Dominican (Ill.) Wednesday night in Harrisonburg. The Stars were ranked No. 7 in the last week's AVCA national poll.

The Royals hung around early in the first set before a couple of short runs gave the visitors some space. They took the set by a score of 25-12.

Dominican jumped to a 7-2 lead in the second before EMU settled down. The Royals kept the margin around four or five points much of the set until the Stars scored two in a row to finish it off, 25-18.

In the third, the Stars scored the first three and kept the men at that margin before pulling away for a 25-13 finale.

Ben Childers (Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) and Martin Pou (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) each landed six kills to lead EMU's attack.

Libero Jack Corl (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run), playing in his first match since the season opener on Jan. 26, led both teams with six digs and 30 serve receives.

Troy Kates, George Kougan and Jake Sidner each had six kills to co-lead Dominican.
