Young Royals Set To Exceed ODAC Pick

The EMU cross country men were picked seventh in the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's coaches.

They received 68 points just behind Virginia Wesleyan who was selected sixth with 74 points. Reigning champion Washington and Lee was selected first with 119 points.

The Royals return sophomores Isaac Alderfer (Broadway, Va./Broadway) and Isaac Andreas (Bluffton, Ohio/Bluffton) after strong finishes to their freshman season. Senior Collin Longenecker (Harrisonburg, Va./Turner Ashby) and junior Justice Allen (Waynesboro, Va./Waynesboro) will provide leadership in a youthful squad.

EMU opens the 2019 season at the Bridgewater XC Challenge on Friday, Aug. 30.
