EMU softball coach J.D. McCurdy has announced the hiring of Morgan Smith as his program's new graduate assistant.
Smith is a 2018 graduate of Rowan University, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of her four seasons. Two of those years, Smith and her teammates advanced to the National Championship Series. She left the powerful Rowan program as record holder in career doubles (61) and walks (89), and notched single season records for doubles (22) and RBIs (62). As a four-year starter, Smith finished her career with a .389 batting average.
EMU had a record of 16-20 last spring. The 2020 schedule will be released later this year.
