EMU's golf women finally hit the links for their first outing of the spring season on Saturday, playing at the Shenandoah Shootout.

Originally scheduled as a two-day tournament at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Va., it was changed to a one-day, 27-hole event.

Olyvia Longacre (Telford, Pa./Dock Mennonite Academy) led the way. She shot a 94 over the first 18 holes on the par-71 course, and then added a 46 on the final nine. Her 27-hole total of 140 (+33) was good for 14th overall.

Freshman Kierra Zuercher (Canton, Ohio/Lake Center Christian) came in at 168 (+61) for 19th place.

Jesse Bartley of Bridgewater was the runaway winner with a 122 (+15). BC also won the team crown by 17 strokes over host Shenandoah.

Next up for the EMU women is the ODAC Championships on April 28-30 at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.
