With back-to-back rounds of 85, EMU's Olyvia Longacre (Telford, Pa./Dock Mennonite Academy) cruised to a third place finish at this weekend's RMC Fall Invitational. It was Longacre's second top-three finish of the young season.
Her 85 on Saturday had the Eastern Mennonite University senior tied for fourth. She moved up one spot on the tournament's final day, with her 170 (+28) three strokes out of second place. Stevenson's Casey Oppenheimer ran away with medalist honors at 156 (+14).
Longacre was the top ODAC finisher at the event, which included women from Shenandoah, Virginia Wesleyan, Sweet Briar and host Randolph-Macon.
Of the 70 total rounds played at the RMC Fall Invitational, only five were better than Longacre's 85s.
The two-day event was played at the par-71 Hanover Country Club in Ashland, Va.
Longacre heads to Front Royal, Va., this Saturday for the one-day 36-hole Greene Turtle Invitational at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.
