The inaugural season of EMU Women's Lacrosse was briefer than expected, but was successful nonetheless. The Royals season abruptly ended just after winning their first ever home game in offensive fashion with 15 goals in the process. The COVID-19 pandemic put a halt in their momentum as the women eyed the remainder of their season, feeling good about how they were competing while posting a .500 record thus far. However, this team filled with freshmen and sophomores will be even more geared up to prove themselves in the years to come with an enthusiastic return.

Record in 2020: 1-1 (0-0 ODAC)
Coach: Katie Russo (1-1 overall in one season)

Coach Russo Comments:
"Reflecting on our inaugural season, I continue to feel we are just getting started. I am extremely proud of every single member of our program, and this is a group that will continue to make history at EMU. Our word of the year was perseverance, a word every member embodied in a selfless mindset, understanding the impact we have made in just a short amount of time. Our season continued on a virtual level, where we move forward every day, finding ways to grow. We have built the never-ending foundation and culture of Royals Lacrosse. Though our playing season may have been cut short, we have remained positive, eager for the next opportunity we get to take the field and be back on campus together."

"I remember putting on the uniform for the first time on picture day. Seeing myself and my teammates wearing our uniforms and posing for pictures had so much power behind it and the feeling was indescribable. Winning our first home game. That was something special." - Freshman Callie Habr
